Job Description:

- Work under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Services Supervisor and Director.- Provide occupational therapy services in inpatient and outpatient settings, including weekend and holiday coverage on a rotational basis.- Evaluate patients based on physician referral, develop treatment plans and goals, administer procedures and modalities, and plan for discharge using Occupational Therapy techniques.- Act as a case manager for assigned patients.- Prepare and maintain accurate and current patient records following departmental policies.- Re-evaluate and revise patient's treatment plan regularly with necessary physician's approval.- Provide patient, family, and caregiver instructions and guidance for home programs and use of adaptive equipment.- Communicate with rehabilitation team members, families, physicians, and third-party payers about patient progress and changes in programs as needed.- Participate in in-service meetings and professional development activities.- Supervise occupational therapist assistants and possibly student interns or volunteers.- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly treatment areas and report any safety concerns.- Engage in program development and participate in committees as requested.- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills within a team setting.- Have knowledge of existing laws and regulations governing Occupational Therapy practice.- Be willing and able to float to sister facilities and other departments as requested and qualified.
