Job Description

SUMMARYThe Director of Sales is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategic sales plans for Sheraton Universal to attract potential customers and retain existing ones. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, financial analysis and a proven track record in sales leadership. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with hotel goals, informed by market trends, customer needs, and competitive analysis.Lead the annual sales budgeting process, ensuring effective resource allocation.Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, agencies, and vendors; prospect through various lines of communication, negotiate contracts, close deals, and ensure deliverables align with Marriott brand and hotel standards.Collaborate with other departments to align sales strategies with overall hotel goals.Present sales strategies and performance reports to the executive team.Act as the primary sales spokesperson at industry events.Direct and mentor the sales team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence.Set and monitor sales targets, providing coaching to ensure objectives are met or exceeded.Utilize data and analytics to inform sales strategies, track performance, and adjust as necessary.Stay current with sales technologies and tools to enhance team efficiency.Conduct hotel tours, entertain potential clients, and adhere to company policies.Assist and supervise Sales Managers, and perform additional duties as requested by the General Manager, including hosting functions and participating in sales blitzes.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises Sales Manager and assistants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training colleagues; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining colleagues; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements, business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from corporate, managers, clients, guests and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical hotel revenue solutions

REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

The salary range for this position is $185,000 to $200,000 annually.
