We are seeking a Director of Maritime Contracts to be responsible for overseeing all aspects of contract management, negotiation, and compliance related to the company's maritime and shipbuilding projects. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of maritime law, industry standards, and contract regulations. The Director will work closely with clients, project managers, and legal teams to ensure that all contractual obligations are met while mitigating risk and maximizing value for the company.
*Director of Maritime Contracts Responsibilities*
* Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including U.S. maritime law, industry-specific requirements, and client-specific guidelines.
* Manage and oversee contract lifecycle processes, from proposal development and contract award through project closeout.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and financial teams to align contract terms with project goals and budgets.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related issues, including risk management, amendments, and dispute resolution.
* Provide strategic guidance on contract terms to mitigate risks while protecting the company’s financial and legal interests.
* Lead contract reviews, identify potential liabilities, and propose strategies to address any concerns.
* Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of invoices, change orders, and other contract-related documentation.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to foster long-term partnerships and ensure smooth contract administration.
*Director of Maritime Contracts Position Requirements*
* 10+ year of relevant work experience
* Bachelor’s degree – Preferred in Business Administration, Contract Management, Law, or a related field
* Exposure to multiple contract types (e.g. CPFF, CPIF, CPAF, CPFF-LOE, T&M, FFP) and solicitation types (e.g. FAR Parts 8, 15, and 16)
* Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) certification is highly desirable.
* Extensive experience in contract management within the DoD or a similar federal environment.
* Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other relevant federal regulations.
* Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.

* Master’s degree or Juris Doctor
* Experience supporting the Department of the Navy, specifically shipbuilding or ship repair contract actions.
* Demonstrated experience in managing multiple contract types (e.g. CPFF, CPIF, CPAF, CPFF-LOE, T&M, FFP) and solicitation types (e.g. FAR Parts 8, 15, and 16)
* Demonstrated experience with service contracts (e.g. FAR Part 22 and 37)
