Every employee at Revolution Space works on projects that are critical to our company’s future by ensuring our products work on orbit every time.Position Summary:The Director of Engineering will lead departments across all engineering disciplines including Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Structural/Thermal), Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, and Test Engineering.The position is full-time with location options in Boston, MA, and is available to be filled immediately.Responsibilities:Plan and direct all aspects of engineering standards, policies, objectives, and initiatives.Develop and manage the department’s budget for training, execution, and growth.Mentor and guide engineers' career progression.Strong collaboration with and technical support for Finance, Operations, Mission Assurance, Business, Development, Programs and Missions.Ownership for technical risk content of program Risk Register (including mitigation and elevation strategy).Build strategies that enable scaling of the business.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or similar.18+ years of relevant work experience.5+ years in Senior Management with an engineering organization of 30+ employees.10+ years of recent experience with Aerospace.Extensive expertise in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Test Engineering.Previous experience in DoD and/or NASA programs.Experienced with gate review processes (SRR, PDR, CDR), providing technical content, oversight, and determining gate pass/fail criteria.Eligibility and ability to obtain a government security clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Engineering or similar.25+ years of relevant work experience.Previous experience as Director of Engineering.Experience scaling from a small to medium-sized company.Experience scaling hardware from R&D to Production.Current Secret or TS/SCI clearance.To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or any other protected factor.
