Senior Contracts Manager will report to the Contracts Director, develop contracting strategies and plans, and manage the tendering, negotiation, and execution of a wide range of offshore wind development contracts.The individual will assist in the management of contractual and commercial risks and seek out opportunities to optimize and drive the performance of various supplier contracts. The Senior Contract Manager is a critical role within the exciting new Offshore Business focusing on the delivery of large-scale offshore wind projects in the United States and will be part of the Contracts Team under the Project Services Group, working with a global team to ensure the business has effective relationships to deliver against their strategies.This position will be instrumental in the entire lifecycle management of multimillion-dollar contracts right from contract conceptualization, development, negotiation, award, execution to closeout, ensuring business' position and interest are suitably served & protected when working with the contractors under these contracts.Job Duties:Perform pre-award and post-award contract management activities consistent with category management and contracting strategy and processAttendance, leading, and providing contractual support in meetings, meetings with members of the Legal, Financial, Procurement and Insurance teams, and meetings with Contractors to ensure all parties are aware and informed about contract content and documentationCollaborate with cross functional teams in RFP/ ITT package preparation, tendering, bid evaluation, negotiations, contract drafting and awardImplement the necessary processes and procedures required to develop and contract each offshore wind projectPrepare, negotiate, and complete all business contracts with minimal supervision for the offshore wind businessAct as primary focal point for internal & external stakeholders on all contractual matters from project inception to closeoutAnticipate contractual and commercial risks, opportunities and threats and implement control measures in accordance with business' policies and proceduresNegotiation and resolution of complex contractual issues with strong commercial and contractual acumenPrepare Non-Disclosure Agreements, contract amendments and other contract types with minimal supervisionChange Order management including ability to settle claims and disputesCoordinate all internal legal, insurance, procurement, and other necessary activities for projectsMaintain value adding relationships with all contractors and suppliersMonitor contractor performance to ensure quality, safety and cost targets are met and projects are implemented in a manner consistent with the contract terms and sound commercial and risk management practicesWork within industry to identity potential for supply chain inclusion/expansionWork within Contracts and Project Teams as lead on contracting strategies and project business cases and financingComfortable managing cross-functional and commercial matters independentlyRobust archive management of contract documents, amendments, correspondence, contractual deliverables, claims and disputes with the capacity to generate reliable reportsHandle internal and external audits. Ensure contracting activities comply with business' procedures & audit requirementsDevelop and present materials and analysis to senior leadership and influence senior management decision makingDrive continuous improvement to improve processes and to ensure critical goals are metProvide contract support to one or more projects, if requiredPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedSkills, Knowledge & Experience:Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline - Engineering, Contract Management, Legal background, Project Management, Construction Management, or commercially orientated qualificationIT literate, with the ability to operate Microsoft Office systems and other IT-based project management software. (Knowledge and previous experience of SAP is advantageous)Extensive commercial, contractual, technical, and practical knowledge of energy industry standardsExperience managing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers preferably within the energy industryExperience with Requests for Proposals and tender processes for contractsExperience tracking contract information for implementationExtensive experience in the management of multidisciplinary contracting strategiesProven track record delivering complex contracts preferably within the energy industryProactive and diligent approach with a high degree of self-motivation and flexibility in the event of unforeseen needsExcellent project management and leadership skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on resultsAbility to work under pressure and within tight deadlinesAble to adapt and work in a fast-paced working environment and responsive to changeProficiency in Microsoft Office and sustainability reporting tools and databases
