Position Location:This position is in-office, located in Sun City West, Arizona. Candidates must have a background in public, government, or non-profit sectors.POSITION SUMMARYThe Information Technology Director supports the mission, organizational, and business goals of the organization by identifying, creating, and executing plans to utilize technology to provide a seamless experience for staff and stakeholders. The IT Director is responsible for leveraging current technology and identifying new technologies to advance organizational goals. They will collaborate closely with executive leadership to develop strategic technology plans that enhance operations and drive growth.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis list provides an overview of the primary responsibilities for this role. Other duties may be assigned.Strategic Technology Planning:

Develop and execute a strategic technology plan aligned with organizational goals, focusing on scalability, security, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.Leadership and Team Management:

Lead the IT department, fostering a culture of customer service, innovation, and continuous improvement. Oversee hiring, mentoring, and performance evaluation of IT staff.Operations Management:

Supervise daily IT operations, including networking equipment, computer hardware and software, data storage, network security, web-based applications, and communication systems. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for efficient and consistent performance.Technical Management:

Design and maintain technical infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage systems, and cloud platforms.Technology Oversight:

Monitor emerging technology trends and assess their potential value to the organization. Ensure IT infrastructure is secure, resilient, and up to date. Lead adoption of new technologies to improve operational effectiveness.Risk Management and Compliance:

Identify and mitigate technology risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, statutes, regulations, and industry standards. Implement security policies, data protection, and business continuity plans.Project Management:

Oversee technology projects from conception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and meeting quality standards.Budget and Resource Management:

Manage the technology budget, making cost-effective decisions regarding resource allocation, infrastructure investment, and technology procurement. Negotiate with vendors and oversee procurement processes.Stakeholder Communications:

Act as the primary point of contact between IT and other departments, executive management, and external partners. Communicate technology strategies and initiatives effectively across all levels.SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIESThis position hires, trains, and supervises IT staff, handling discipline and termination as per company policies. Recent and relevant supervisory skills are required.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, candidates must meet the following requirements:Education and Experience:Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Computer Science required; a Masters degree in a related field or an MBA is desirable.Five years of progressively responsible experience leading an IT operations team.Strong knowledge of networking, cloud computing, web applications, data center operations, technology security, and enterprise systems.Relevant technology certifications are a plus.Skills and Abilities:Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and to effectively present information and respond to queries from management, clients, and the public.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Advanced knowledge of computing technology, hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 Apps and Services.Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms.
