The YMCA of Greater New York Association Office is seeking a Learning and Development Trainer who will partner with our L&D team to create and deliver skill-building and career-enhancing programs and resources throughout all YMCA of Greater New York branches while sustaining a vibrant LEAP (Leadership, Empowerment, Accountability, Personal Growth) infused culture. The L&D Trainer will build relationships with leadership across the Association to identify and evaluate these efforts.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct site visits at NYC branch locations to assess and identify L&D needs and common challenges.Collaborate with subject matter experts, branch leadership, L&D, and Culture & Engagement teams to strategize and implement Association-wide L&D initiatives.Collaborate on designing, developing, and executing a curriculum of learning strategies, encompassing in-person and virtual programs and workflow resources to foster talent development and career growth.Innovate and implement ongoing methods to deliver in-person and virtual as-needed programs focused on retention and growth that are aligned with core competencies, organizational values, and critical Y skills.Partner with the L&D team to deliver training sessions and resources for various organizational initiatives with a focus on L&D objectives.Analyze internal and external metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions.Provide timely and actionable feedback on the effectiveness and value of the L&D processes and tools.Advocate for and nurture a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the Association.Perform additional L&D related tasks as required.Desired Skills & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in L&D.Experience in learning and development, organizational development, training, and facilitating.Strong understanding of learning and development frameworks and principles, including, but not limited to, behavioral change, talent management, coaching, and ADDIE.Ability to create partnerships across all levels, exhibiting strong leadership and influencing skills.Demonstrated track record of impactful learning and development solutions from strategy to implementation.Ability to multi-task and manage several tasks/projects simultaneously.Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex information clearly and concisely.Flexibility to travel to NYC branches as needed for in-person sessions and events.Knowledge of learning management systems.Facilitation and instructional design certifications desirable.Benefits:The YMCA of Greater New York offers a variety of benefits to its staff members, including retirement benefits, medical, paid time off, free YMCA membership, and more!
