The Senior Specialist - Enterprise Communications supports the team's mission to create relatable, clear communications that bring to life our company strategy and cultural priorities for employees across the company. The role will partner with senior leaders and other Corporate Communications teams to build and deliver communications strategies that drive awareness, understanding and pride in who we are and what we stand for. The role supports a team that delivers company news daily to our 100,000+ employees across the globe, with a goal to advise, educate and inspire – ultimately influencing how employees feel about working at United. This individual is a curious, creative thinker, with a willingness to travel regularly to United locations as a roving reporter and to build relationships across the enterprise to unearth the best employee stories.

This is a Chicago-based, hybrid role that requires 2-3 days in office per week.Conduct interviews, research, seek out, pitch, and write storiesTravel as a roving reporter for research, meetings, and events as necessaryContribute creative ideas and approaches to employee communicationsProvide/recommend engagement communications support to key projects impacting the businessWork closely with fellow writers, designers, and photographers to ensure publishing deadlines are metProvide communications counsel/support for key subject matter expertsPlan, lead, and execute end-to-end campaigns that connect the dots between new projects, operational and company goals, and the people behind the scenesUnited values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply. What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

Bachelor's degreeJournalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field3+ years of corporate communications or newsroom experienceProven track record of running successful, proactive, and creative communications campaigns that use a variety of tools, forums, and media3+ years of writing experienceExcellent communication skills, including both written and verbalKnowledge of AP style writing/editingAble to work effectively & efficiently in cross-functional teamsProactive, meticulous, and well-organizedForward-thinking, diligent, creative, and curiousAble to work under tight deadlines and with competing prioritiesAbility to travel up to 25%Supports a team providing 24/7 on-call coverage for operational communications needs; will need to be available to provide support and direction to team as neededMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
