We are looking for Senior UX Product Designers to join Pershing X, a new advisory startup within BNY | Pershing.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
The candidate should be an experienced professional with a full understanding of their area of specialization. This role requires experience providing guidance and technical expertise for complex user experience activities that include user research and testing, interactive design, and visual design. They will review documentation of research findings presented to product and development teams, as well as new and modified user personas. The candidate will be expected to participate and provide guidance in the creation of concepts, information architecture, user interface designs, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and specifications to meet project schedules. They should be able to synthesize situations and information across multiple factors and seek to build their expertise while applying company policies and procedures in the resolution of a variety of issues. They should be comfortable giving design feedback and building good relationships with people on their immediate team and cross-functional teams. They must know their key stakeholders and peers, with the goal of better understanding the connection of their own work. They will help organize team processes and mentor and train more junior designers. Strong communication skills are essential, with an emphasis on checking for understanding and asking questions to understand others' points of view.
This role leads the implementation of visual styles that support platform branding to increase user effectiveness. The candidate will interpret user feedback and insights to improve the user experience, serve as a reviewer of usability activities and artifacts to ensure software applications meet customer expectations for use, and provide UX expertise to the product definition and evaluation process utilizing multiple sources of information (field work, interviews, internet, intranet, market data/literature). They will independently perform and lead the creation and updating of user interface and visual design guidelines and standards. Advocating for the user experience across the firm, they will facilitate training for groups outside the UX team and ensure that the developed/revised product achieves the user's specified goals by establishing user-centered analysis, design, best practices, and standards. Overall, they will be expected to be highly independent, needing little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
Bachelor's degree in psychology, user experience, design, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of experience required, and experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $119,000 and $170,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
