YOUR IMPACTReporting to the Vice President, Accounting & Reporting, the Director is responsible for providing overall financial leadership to the external reporting team, which is accountable for the preparation, review and filing of the Company's obligation to report its annual and quarterly financial information with the Securities and Exchange Commission as well as the Ontario Securities Commission and technical accounting for the company. This includes leading the quarterly and annual corporate US GAAP external reporting process, production of external financial statements and MD&A, administration of external reporting systems and processes, enhancing the accuracy and timeliness of the company's external reporting function and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and external reporting regulations.WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS*The opportunity to lead the overall corporate SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) & OSC (Ontario Securities Commission) external reporting process in accordance with US GAAP.*Manage and provide overall financial leadership to the external reporting team to maintain and continue developing a best-in-class external reporting function.*Research and opine on technical SEC and US GAAP accounting & reporting matters and work with cross functional finance and operational teams to implement new accounting standards and requirements as needed, including comparative periods and necessary disclosures.*Act as a key point of contact and manage the relationship with internal and external auditors with respect to all external reporting and SEC filing deliverables to support and coordinated the completion of the annual audit and quarterly reviews of the consolidated financial statements.*Responsible for complying with all SEC and OSC reporting requirements including the filing of quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission*Manage the administration and maintenance of the company's external reporting software (Workiva) and processes.*Build strong working relationships in support of cross functional teams to drive key external reporting initiatives. This includes partnering with cross functional teams responsible for corporate accounting & consolidation, international controllership, corporate and indirect tax, transfer pricing, treasury, financial planning and analysis, M&A, revenue recognition, legal, investor relations and operations, among others.*Manage relationships with accounting service providers to ensure efficient delivery of services.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED*The successful candidate will have experience with SEC external reporting in a large multinational organization, preferably in the technology sector. The individual will have a track record of increasing responsibility and be process, results and detail orientated.*Minimum 10 years' experience in various Accounting and Finance roles at a senior level, preferably with both a Big 4 public accounting firm and experience managing external reporting teams within either the software or high-tech industries.*US CPA or significant US SEC reporting experience required*Superior knowledge of SEC, OSC and US GAAP accounting, reporting and disclosure requirements.*High attention to detail and accuracy.*Demonstrated experience with researching and communicating SEC reporting disclosure guidance, peer reporting analysis and accounting treatments of complex issues/requirements.*Experienced with consolidations working in a large multi-national organization.*Proven self-starter with the ability to balance multiple tasks of competing priorities in a changing and dynamic environment.*Excellent oral and written English communication skills.*Experience interacting well at senior management and executive levels with a proven ability to assess business risk and escalate to management with appropriate alternatives.*Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with an ability to facilitate or lead cross-finance teamwork.*Proven problem solving and root cause identification skills.*Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.*Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization.
SALARYSTATEMENTThis role offers a minimum base salary of $161,000 USD, along with a comprehensive and competitive group benefits and healthcare plan. Compensation will be determined based on skills and experience in relation to the job requirements. Additionally, there is a bonus component included as part of the total compensation package.
