IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist to support the payroll functions. In this role you will work closely with the Payroll Manager and the HR team to execute payroll processing. The successful Senior Payroll Specialist ensures the accuracy of preliminary and final payroll reports, timesheets, spreadsheets, and funds distribution; responds to inquiries and/or request for data and/or reports; and provides timely and accurate payroll production, and demonstrate the ability to use payroll knowledge and previous experience to add value to a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and high-growth company!This is a full-time position in our San Mateo, CA headquarters office.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Prepare and process end-to-end multi-state bi-weekly payrolls for over 1,300 employees in WorkdayProcess monthly payrolls for global locations through partnership with payroll service providersPrepare manual payroll checks for employees and wire payments as needed for off-cycle paymentsHandle day-to-day payroll activities and resolve payroll related discrepanciesProvide timely response to inquiries from HR, accounting, managers, employees, government, and other third-party agencies by utilizing knowledge and interpretation of policies, procedures, and legislationReview and reconcile all payroll data for new hires, terminations, taxes, benefits, and deductionsManage time and attendance workflow to ensure all time sheets, time off requests, and other payroll data is received timely and are accurateEnsure compliance of payroll controls and maintains knowledge of applicable federal and state regulationsParticipate in payroll process improvement and documentationAssist in year-end close and W-2 processing and partnership with ADP Tax and SmartCompliance teamsAssist in annual 401k and financial statement audit on payrollAssist Payroll Manager with special projects, M&As, and system implementations as neededWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related majorMinimum 5 years’ experience in payroll, international experience a plusExperience with ADP or Workday preferredCommitment to customer service with a strong sense of ownership for projects and resultsDetail-oriented, exceptionally organized, and be able to work within tight deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHave the ability to think outside the box, work independently with general supervision, as well as part of a team and willing to contribute beyond the defined role to meet business needs as circumstances requireMaintain confidentiality in all aspects of employee and company informationProficiency in Microsoft Office 365, G-SuiteOur pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000 - $115,000 + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the position.
