We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA’s pursuits in deep space exploration.We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Functional Manager; Software Unit Test Engineer to join our team with the Engineering Division.You may serve in one or both roles depending on the needs of the program.As a Software Functional Manager & Software Unit Test Engineer you will:Serve as a Software Functional Manager (SFM) by interfacing with, collaborating with, and monitoring the Prime Contractor and collaborating with NASA Civil Servants to perform the following activities:
Provide technical feedback on spacecraft products developed by the software contractorMonitor the contractor work being done during the preparation for launchReview code for errors to ensure proper adherence to code development processReview code design documentation to ensure clear and correct design as per requirementsReview software Unit Tests to ensure processes were followed and Unit Tests fully test the functionalityReview Integration testing to ensure integration tests fully exercise the interfaces between domain code and code from other domainsFollow the software Verification campaign to ensure that the Verification tests pass and that they are sufficient to prove the functionality required of the target softwareFollow and participate in the Validation campaign to prove that the data provided to the software produces the desired operation of that softwareAdvise and appraise through code reviews, requirement reviews, and any other relevant reviewsNegotiate and collaborate across multiple interdisciplinary teamsProvide status report to senior management as requested
Serve as a Software Unit Test Engineer
Collaborate with the software development teamFocus on taking a formal Unit Test Plan for the Orion Flight Software and creating a GoogleTest implementationDetermine if issues are related to GoogleTest Framework or flight codeRun GoogleTest suite after writing the tests and debug issues until the code runs properly successfully completesResponsible for doing code reviews of C/C++ code to spot errors in the logic of the codeWork in an Agile, fast-paced environment
Remote work location available, however, quarterly travel to Houston and/or Denver for a week may be requiredPerform other duties as requested or required by managementRequisition Qualifications:This position has been posted at multiple levels. Experience with the development of space systems requirements documents including functional requirements and verification success criteriaProficiency with C/C++ coding and experience testing C/C++ classes and their associated methodsExperience leading a software development project across the full development life cycleExperience with agile software development and tools including Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, git, slack, SharePointExperience with gitlab version control, configuration management, and issue trackingExperience in risk assessment and implementation of risk reducing measures

Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractorsProficiency with team collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, Skype, SharePointExcellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude
Effectively communicate across a wide range of technical disciplines, with vendors/contractors, direct customers and upper managementExperience working in and fostering a collaborative team environmentAbility to prepare written documents/presentations and to verbally present at various meetings
Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervisionWork in a fast-paced, Agile environmentCan understand and absorb new concepts quicklySelf-starter and able to take initiative and work with little direction
