In this Corporate Counsel Senior role, you will provide legal guidance on FIS' most innovative and highest growth initiatives. You will work with the product teams to provide legal advice regarding new product offerings, features and functionalities. You will also draft and negotiate commercial agreements for products and services as well as terms of use, policies and customer documentation. We work collaboratively with each other and with our business colleagues to solve problems in an effective and pragmatic manner. We view our role as one of supporting our business leaders in a variety of legal matters, and we strive to assist our businesses in meeting their objectives with sound, reasonable and well-considered legal counsel.What you will be doing:Partner with the business for strategies on new products, features and sales initiatives, learning about and understanding the business initiatives, investigating and assessing the legal and business risks, and advising on customer experiences intended to deliver value and benefits to customers.Get to know the business in-depth to be able to identify and apply laws and legal requirements for the business teams and work with the business and other legal colleagues to develop creative solutions and resolve issues.Structure, draft, negotiate and finalize contracts - supporting the full contracting lifecycle. Apply innovative ideas and perspectives to established products and contract terms as well as develop bespoke arrangements for products or features that are new to the marketplace.Advise colleagues on legal issues relating to commercial contracts, product development and compliance.Provide legal support for strategic relationships with technology partners, resellers, and vendors.Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations in the financial services and payables spaces.Take responsibility for high profile projects and handling of day-to-day matters.Review and advise on legal compliance of go-to-market sales materials and marketing materials.Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent implementation of legal guidance and alignment on many areas including risk, compliance, intellectual property and privacy.What you will need:Strong knowledge of and interest in financial technology solutions, in-house experience with a financial institution or fintech.A college degree and a Juris Doctor from an accredited US law school and be licensed to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.A minimum of 8-10+ years' in the practice of law in a high-quality law firm or in-house environment, and be a seasoned, experienced legal professional with a full understanding of corporate and commercial contract issues.Strong analytical and advisory skills, including the ability to review and evaluate multi-faceted issues and counsel business colleagues on complex legal questions relating to various business matters, such as product development and compliance. You must possess the ability to use creative problem-solving skills to resolve issues in a pragmatic and sound manner.Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior management, outside legal counsel, and internal and external clients. This includes strong writing skills and the ability to draft contracts, dispute resolution documentation and other legal communications.Strong negotiation and deal-making skills, including the ability to balance the company's goals and the client's needs, as well as the ability to deal with multiple parties with competing interests.What we offer you:At FIS, you can learn, grow and make an impact in your career. The pay range for this full-time position is $163,310.00 - $274,380.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
