A prominent law firm in Freehold, New Jersey, is seeking a seasoned Criminal Defense Attorney with extensive experience managing serious criminal cases in Superior Court. The ideal candidate will have prior experience serving as a Prosecutor, Deputy Attorney General, AUSA, or Public Defender and must be able to handle cases from inception to resolution. This position offers an opportunity to join a collaborative legal team, focusing on providing high-quality representation to clients while contributing to the firm's growth.Duties:Represent clients in criminal defense matters, handling cases from investigation through trialPrepare and argue motions, draft legal documents, and develop case strategiesManage all aspects of jury trials, including client representation in courtConduct legal research and analysis to build strong defense strategiesCollaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure effective case managementProvide clients with legal counsel and maintain communication throughout the legal processRequirements:Minimum of 3 years of criminal defense experience, including jury trial experienceStrong litigation skills and ability to handle cases independentlyExperience working as a Prosecutor, Deputy Attorney General, AUSA, or Public Defender preferredExcellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases simultaneouslyEducation:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Active admission to the New Jersey State Bar is requiredSkills:In-depth knowledge of criminal law and court proceduresStrong problem-solving and case strategy development skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and negotiationAbility to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal teamTime management and organizational skills for handling a high caseload
