Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Responsible for facilities management for the Department of Event and Venue Management across both campuses and the KSU Sports and Entertainment Park. The Director of Operations will deliver clean, safe, and efficient facilities for our employees, user groups and patrons. The Director will manage programs and projects within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope. Directs strategic planning and daily operations of programs, services and/or activities within Campus Operations. Has responsibility for personnel, budget, and allocation of resources. Will be a key decision maker for the department. Assists the Executive Director to provide strategic leadership and direction for EVM.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Responsible for overseeing grounds, event conversion and facility operations for the Department of Event and Venue Management.2. Oversees building operations, maintenance and repairs, including HVAC, irrigation, electrical and plumbing. Works with other departments on campus to ensure all MEP systems are well maintained.3. Assists in operations and capital budget development related to venues managed by EVM4. Prepares, implements, and manages a five (5) year major maintenance plan for capital improvements.5. Develops and implements standard operating procedures to ensure efficient and effective facility management.6. Assists Planning, Design and Construction division with management and coordination of projects, including oversight of contractors.7. Attends meetings and prepares project status reports8. Provides quotes for one-time funding for projects related to repairs and maintenance9. Collaborates with department leaders to optimize venue utilization10. Responsible for hiring, performance management, maintaining appropriate staffing levels, and scheduling student workforce11. Coordinates with clients, vendors, KSU departments, staff and the general public to produce successful events12. Establishes cleanliness standards and guidelines for the front and back of house operations, and building exterior, to ensure processes and cleaning schedules are in place.13. Leads and schedules annual testing of building systems to comply with all rules and regulations.14. Serves as the venue operations point-of-contact on events days15. Coordinates and oversees staff safety training

Required Qualifications

Educational RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Other Required QualificationsCurrent, valid and unrestricted driver's license

Required ExperienceEight (8) years of related experience with some supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred QualificationsMembership and/or service record with International Association for Venue Managers (IAVM) CPR/First AidForklift certifiedCertified Venue Professional (CVP)Certified Crowd Manager and experience with crowd management, specifically in concert, festival or athletic venues

Preferred Educational QualificationsAdvanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Preferred ExperiencePrior experience working with college students in a university setting
