Intermodal Bridge Transport, Inc. (IBT)
is a National Port and Rail drayage company for international containers. IBT is seeking a qualified Manager of Safety to join our Team with our newest opening in Baytown, TX. This role will be responsible for the US Gulf company safety initiatives. We are a “Safety First” culture with 100% participation of company standards and compliance. Will work in part with Safety partners in multiple locations to create standards, ensure all company and 3rdparty carriers are within compliance, and maintain permits, licenses, and equipment needed to safely accomplish daily duties.
Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:? Drive company safety campaigns and develop industry leading standards for company.? Develop a road map for US Gulf IBT offices safety procedures and safety vision.? Develop safety practices for all joining employees, contractors, and future partners.? Ensure IBT Drivers and 3PL Contractors comply with state and federal laws to stay compliant and ensure OSHA Approvals.? Develop reporting that identifies company current safety standings.? Monitor drivers’ qualifications and compliance throughout the hiring process.? Audit and maintain compliance with hours-of-service records.? Maintaining Job Hazard Analyst documentation? Coordinates the implementation of controls from results environmental, health and safety audits.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:? Experience managing Microsoft office suite.? Must be able to develop data displaying presentations.? Working knowledge of state and federal safety laws with a full understanding of OSHA guidelines for warehousing and Trucking.? Ability to problem solve on the go and help resolve escalations that will occur.? Ability to mentor and coach? Ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others on the team with a relentlessly positive attitude.? Understand and be able to apply safety protocols.? Ability to develop strategic safety plans for company.? Works with all levels of Leadership and Employees to identify and evaluate environmental, health and safety hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
Qualifications:? 5+ years of intermodal, trucking, rail, or port experience.? Must have worked and managed a fleet of 20+? Strong understanding of OSHA and State regulations to keep company in compliance.
