Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Reporting to the Director of Dining Services, the Senior Associate Director for Administration is responsible for the overall management, organizational planning, and coordination of all Administrative, Business, and Technology activities for the Department involving the following:

Budgeting and financial analysis

Accounting activities including A/P; A/R and payroll

Purchasing and Inventory management

Human Resources

Financial policies, procedures, and audits

Marketing and Communications

Point-of-Sale Systems and Technology

Oversees a budget of over 90 million dollars. Direct supervision of four Assistant Directors and two managers and indirect supervision of up to 30 professional staff, including:

Business Office

Dining Plan Office

Human Resources

Marketing

Payroll

Procurement

Technology

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership in a high-volume financial, communication, and procurement environment in a non-traditional setting, including government or university agencies.

At least 8 of those years at a senior level position with supervisory responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong commitment to Customer Service – both internal and external.

Excellent oral and written communication skills when representing the department as a liaison.

Preferences:

Basic knowledge and understanding of the operations of a high volume multi unit Food Service or Restaurant Operations.

Advanced accounting experience and information systems background and/or experience.

Experience with food management systems, point-of-sales systems, or other related software applications.

Knowledge and understanding of sound financial practices and procedures.

Extensive knowledge of financial, human resources, and technology operations.

Working knowledge of Workday, Concur, and e-Procurement preferred.

Advanced degree or CPA preferred.

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse professional and skilled team.

Additional Information:

Salary range is $159,048 – $190,000.

Physical Demands:

Primarily an office position but requires going to operation units, campus meetings, and Concessions events.

This is an

essential position

and incumbent may be required to report to work when the campus is closed.

Must be able to work occasional weekends, nights, evenings, and holidays for major campus events.

Must have the manual dexterity to operate equipment with or without accommodation and to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
