DESCRIPTION:Strives towards a culture of proactive safety.Guide Quality team members toward obtaining department-specific KPIs.Create programs for CMM and Keyence measurements.Support and train inspection personnel in the performance of their assigned responsibilities.Manage the work in the quality lab.Subject matter expert in GD&T.Effectively document and communicate results in a timely fashion, working closely with Production and other Manufacturing personnel.Participate in design reviews, new product introduction, and validation.Contribute to continuous improvement project work.Generate FAI reports for customers (AS9102).Define methods and specify equipment appropriate for inspection activities.Participate in investigations of root causes and corrective actions, implementing preventative actions.Perform testing and support data analysis.Identify gauges and measurement techniques for new products.Record, summarize, and report on testing data.Perform measurements for First Article Inspections.Responsible for gauge calibration.Responsible for cleanliness and organization of quality inspection and the quality lab areas.Other projects as assigned by management.REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma and 7-10 years quality work experience preferred.Experience in a metal machining manufacturing environment.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CMM programming.Advanced knowledge of geometric tolerancing.Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100D.Strong leadership and communication skills.Strong analytical skills and the ability to express technical concepts effectively, both written and verbally.Skilled in understanding Blueprints.Skilled in using metrology hand tools and gauges.Superior attention to detail.Knowledge of quality principles.Excellent computer skills and proficiency.Excellent problem-solving capabilities.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to sit and to use a computer keyboard with mouse for long periods of time. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.WORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee is exposed to noise and aluminum particles. The noise level is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required in designated areas. The employee is required to wear safety glasses when in the plant.
