OverviewPurpose Statement/Position Summary:

Provides support to the Division of Hospital Medicine. The Practice Manager oversees staff who support faculty and contractor recruitment and onboarding, research support, clinical billing and administrative support. This position is responsible for managing the finances for the division that include medical group funds, hospital funds and research funds by providing regular financial updates. Provides leadership, facilitating growth and development of the Department of Pediatrics practice in alignment with the Hospital’s strategic plan. Has a good understanding of Department of Pediatrics and its business components. Responsibilities include financial management (budget, grants & contracts), personnel management, program coordination, and quality improvement and outcomes. Develops and executes a plan that will maximize the opportunity across all areas of Department of Pediatrics. Assist in clinical practice financial modeling, projection/forecasting, budgets, grants, annual operating expenses/capital, financial reporting, resource management, risk assessment, statement reconciliations, expenditure tracking, income statements, payroll projections (faculty/non-faculty), billing, purchasing, accounts payable, strategic initiatives and financial project management. In addition to a strong financial background, the ideal candidate will be highly analytical and be able to comprehend, interpret and apply institutional and university policies and procedures to all financial processes of the organization. It is critical that the work product of this position customize methodologies to meet specific project and organizational needs. This position mandates a proactive individual experienced in early problem identification and timely resolution, while communicating effectively to executive management regarding impacts to the department’s financial priorities. Works closely with the CAAO, Senior Vice Chairman and Chairman as the primary financial interface to implement department plan. This position has oversight on financial administration while providing leadership to a support staff.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

5+ years of progressive management experience with a minimum of 3+ years in healthcare field required. Supervisory experience required. Experience in Academic Medical Center required. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite software and proven expertise with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets to perform complex financial and statistical analysis including financial forecasting, trend analysis and reporting results in the form of tables, graphs and charts required. Must have a proven leadership track-record and the ability to effectively manage and provide accurate guidance to a support staff charged with meeting the financial administrative demands of a dynamic department. Experience managing or coordinating research highly preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

Master’s degree in business or healthcare administration with a finance/accounting background required.

Pay Scale Information$80,288.00-$144,518.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
