KP Windows site in Alexandria
(+- 200 employees).The responsibilities include, but are not limited to employee relations, benefits, Human Resource Information Systems, compensation, training, onboarding, and compliance with all applicable local legislation.In addition, the Sr. HR Business Partner will assist the Regional Human Resources Manager and other key clients as identified by Saint-Gobain HR leadership with the implementation of strategic HR programs. This position will play an important role with helping the site to achieve business goals and objectives.Main responsibilities:HR Partner Support to client groupsEmployee RelationsRespond to employee relations issues in a unionized environment and work effectively with all parties involved to address and escalate to HR Management as required.Ensure that all guidance, decision-making, and solutions offered will be in accordance with all applicable employment legislation as well as internal policies, processes, and procedures and ensure the best interest of both the company and its employees has been taken into account.Prepare HR communications and keep HR communication boards/channels and tools up to date.Participate in department and site level initiatives - JHSC.Coach leaders on creating an environment where positive employee relations are foundational to the successful outcome of high employee engagement and retention in service of the successful delivery of business objectives.Oversee all labour relations at the plant, grievance handling, and arbitration preparation, union negotiations participation.Lead internal investigations on employment-related matters.Interpret and implement relevant employment practices (e.g., employment and human rights legislation, collective agreements, labour law, etc.).OnboardingSupport hiring manager and drive engagement and completion of Onboarding Checklist.Meet with new hires on day one to review HR Onboarding presentation and paperwork.Compile HR metrics (turnover, headcount), analyzing, reporting, and identifying emerging trends.Perpetuate a culture of high performance through effective leader coaching and feedback.Promote a safe working environment, comply with proper use of PPE, and understand applicable EHS programs (reporting incidents, and participating in functional department safety meetings).Counsel site management team on the effective use of professional development plans, performance improvement plans, progressive discipline, and risk mitigated decisions.Continuously develop our corporate culture by leading & supporting all employee wellness & engagement initiatives and employee social events.Proactively help to drive employee engagement at the site and make recommendations for activities that can improve engagement.Keep current on knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.Partner and collaborate with broader HR team on Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards.Benefits AdministrationOversee administration of the employee benefit and pension plan.Provide guidance on compensation decisions for lateral moves, promotions, off-cycle changes, merit, and market adjustments.Stay current on trending compensation, employee benefits/perks, and HR-related trends to ensure industry competitiveness.HRIS Program AdministrationSystems Administrative lead for Boost, People Group (Micro strategy), People Fluent, PEG, Sunlife and other SG sites.Primary contact for employees, managers, and HR team for questions related to performance management cycle and requirements including the system.Coordination/administration/recommendations of the annual merit and incentive processes in coordination with department and HR leadership. Monitor Performance Management program and recommend improvements as necessary.Issue local communications & training for annual performance management cycle and total reward programs.The profile:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources administration or related field.Minimum experience of 5+ years in a unionized environment.Minimum Experience: 5+ years in Human Resources, with Generalist experience in the key areas; policy development, performance management, exposure to payroll, and employee relations.Strong Proficiency- Labour Relations, HRIS systems, MS office.Bilingualism could be considered an asset.Good knowledge of current employment-related laws and legislations.Effective written and verbal communication that can reach all levels of the organization.Ability to exhibit professionalism and diplomacy with all levels of the organization even under stressful/high pressured situations.High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis to help guide business planning.Strong interpersonal relationship building and coaching skills with the ability to exercise the appropriate level of confidentiality when required.Must be able to work well in a team environment in a respectful way, adapt to change and have the ability to influence others without authority in a direct and positive manner.Excellent organizational management skills and strong attention to detail.Certified Human Resources Professional (CRHA/CPHR) designation is an asset.This position is based at the
Alexandria . The role is functioning within an office environment, with some travel as required to the business units/branches/manufacturing plants. Plant visits will require on-the-floor interaction with both employees and processes for observation and evaluation of HR issues.Legal Statement
