A Senior Data Engineer is a technical thought leader with an eye for how to apply BI capabilities to empower the organization to be data driven. A Senior Data Engineer can effectively balance the needs of the organization with the best technical practices to enable the organization to leverage the power of our data in the best way possible. A Senior Data Engineer recognizes that the BI Platform exists to advance our organization's mission to save lives and delivers solutions that align with our organization's needs. This position can be remote (US) or hybrid. #LI-Remote #LI-HybridCheck out our video Saving Lives: It's the Best Job EverACCOUNTABILITIES:BI Technical Leadership:Provides recommendations for BI solutions, processes, and best practicesLeads the development activities on complex and cross functional BI SolutionsPartners closely with the BI team and key partners to ensure successful delivery of BI SolutionsLeads BI technical efforts across various workstreams to ensure enterprise view, efficiencies, and high- quality outcomesProvides guidance, training, and problem-solving assistance to other team membersCoaches and mentors that are less experienced individualsDevelopment:Designs, develops, unit tests, and implements technical solutions, including data replication and ETL for the BI platformWorks on highly complex, cross functional, and enterprise IT and business intelligence solutionsCreates awareness of changes to upstream applications and any impacts to the BI data structuresAt the direction of the Principal Data Engineer, designs and develops Enterprise Data Warehouse data modelsSuccessfully estimates and delivers on scheduleBuild simple and easy to interpret diagrams that effectively communicate technical conceptsSuggest recommendations for continuous process improvement across the technologies and the teamProduction Support and Maintenance:Respond to and resolve service incidents within SLA's where applicableParticipate in after-hours support rotationOther duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of:SQL, ETL, and data modeling skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including VisioAbility to:Demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and facilitation skillsEffectively bridge communication between IT and the businessStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, self-directed.Exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detailDemonstrate strong passion for data and its ability to optimize organizationsAppreciate the value of high-quality dataMust exemplify NMDP standardsPrioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic fast-paced environmentBe able to work and relate non-technical business teams throughout the organizationEducation and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
