Please review the following job description:The Software Engineering Director is responsible for providing oversight and day-to-day support for business-critical systems, ensuring operational stability, and quickly resolving incidents. This role focuses on resolving incidents, maintaining system health, and supporting the improvement of production environments through collaboration with other partner teams and cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and optimizing applications stability.
Support day-to-day monitoring of system performance and use monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch) to detect anomalies and take corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical incidents and escalate higher-complexity issues as needed.
Assist in automating routine production support tasks by developing or modifying scripts and tools.
Maintain documentation for production issues, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations, contributing to the shared knowledge base.
Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes, following ITIL best practices.
Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and assist senior engineers in implementing permanent fixes to improve system stability.
Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance system performance and minimize downtime.
Assist with mentoring and supporting junior-level engineers, providing guidance as needed.
Mentor less experienced teammates to build technical expertise.
This role does have lead production support responsibilities which will include oversight of production support for a suite of applications.
Responsible for overseeing disaster recovery plans and testing.
Familiar with Agile delivery to partner with development and business teams to refine and define product backlogs.
Experience with vulnerability remediation and vulnerability management tools.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and fifteen years of experience in development or production support or equivalent education and related training or experience.
Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge in production support processes and technical experience in production support.
Sound understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes.
Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices.
Ability to lead production support teams for complex solutions.
Sophisticated analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical issues.
Ability to influence others at senior levels to adopt a new perspective.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Banking or financial services experience for 5+ years.
Deep knowledge and experience with two or more of the following: Anti Money Laundering (AML) suite of applications and Risk and Compliance suite of applications.
Strong production support experience with Dynatrace, Splunk and CA ESP.
Experience with Actimize(NICE) and Archer (RSA) products.
Strong understanding of SOA methodologies and service architectures.
Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies.
Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling).
Experience with messaging systems (i.e., MQ and JMS).
Experience with build tools, such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins.

Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
