The MSIM Alternative Investments Distribution Team is focused on coordinating and driving the following key activities across the MSIM Alternative Investments platform: Investor Coverage, Capital-Raising, Marketing, Market Intelligence, and Education.
The MSIM Alternative Investments Distribution team is seeking an experienced, independent, self-motivated distribution professional to lead the MSIM Alternatives business development and distribution efforts in the Southeast region. Acting as a true specialist, you will be responsible for explaining complex Alternative Investment strategies and concepts at a granular level to financial advisors across the full spectrum of alternative asset classes including private equity, private credit, private real estate/infrastructure, and hedge funds.
What you'll do in the role:
Coordinate all Alternative Investment sales efforts on behalf of the MSIM Alternative Investments platform for the Southeast (FL, GA, LA, MS & AL) region.
Host regional events/roadshows to educate advisors on MSIM's alternative investment strategies and funds.
Exhibit proficiency in meeting with advisors’ clients at the point of sale as needed to close business.
Focus on proactive outreach, including regular travel to advisors in your coverage area to educate them on the MSIM Alternatives Investment platform and capabilities.
Partner with our affiliated Eaton Vance long-only wholesaling team to build relationships with advisors in your designated territory and deliver the entirety of the MSIM/Eaton Vance platform.
Establish and maintain a business plan to identify, target, and service the top Alternative Investment producing Financial Advisors in your coverage area.
Manage and utilize CRM database to track interactions and opportunities.
Collaborate cross-department with investment teams, product development, marketing, and onboarding on new product ideas, demand assessments, marketing materials, etc.
What you'll bring to the role:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
License requirements: FINRA Series 7 and 63.
Minimum of 5 – 10 years of alternative investments outside sales experience.
Experience selling into an advisor-led channel.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Ability to drive results, positively influence and leverage relationships.
Willingness to engage in regular travel.
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in communicating complex concepts clearly and succinctly.
Ability to make presentations effectively.
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, organized, and a strategic thinker.
Team player with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, as well as independently.
Completion of or progress towards investment designations, such as a CFA or CAIA strongly preferred.
Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking preferred, but not required.

Wage Transparency Statement:
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
