Management/Leadership Req #: 7394 Summary Summary: The Director Microbiology role is responsible for the direction, education, evaluation, and oversight of all testing within the microbiology laboratory. Responsible for scientific oversight including evaluating functions and quality of laboratory operations, as well as, setting a vision for the future of the microbiology lab. Participates in institutional committees, including infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship committees at local and system level and serves on ad hoc committees in outbreak settings. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 1.
Education: D. or M.D. degree required. Must have completed a CPEP fellowship and must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Medical Microbiology (ABMM) or American Board of Pathology (ABP). 2.
License/Certification: Must meet CLIA requirements for a Technical Supervisor. 3.
Experience: Two years of experience directing a clinical microbiology laboratory preferred. 4.
Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access). Must be able to travel among company sites as needed. 5.
