The candidate will be responsible for managing assurance engagements, being an active role-model and leader for staff to emulate, and meeting billable hour requirements.Responsibilities:Coordinate various planning phases of engagements and ensure work is on scheduleGenerate budgetsMaintain profitable realization ratesReview and evaluate work papers, and determine compliance with professional standards and firm policyReview reports and financial statementsReview with the engagement partner significant findings that raise questions involving auditing standards and firm policyManage risk and ensure quality control procedures are being executedBe involved in practice development and supervision of multiple engagementsAssume responsibility for billing and collections when circumstances permitDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with client managementProvide on-the-job training to subordinatesAdditional Responsibilities:Generate new business annually from new and existing clientsRepresent the Firm by presenting on areas of expertise at 3rd party eventsEffectively manage employee and client expectationsComplete performance evaluations constructively and timely, and provide ongoing performance feedback to employeesMaintain required annual CPEsParticipate in firm-sponsored activitiesDevelop staff by taking an active role in the Firm's learning and development activitiesQualifications:BBA/BS/MS in AccountingMust be a licensed CPA10+ years of relevant experienceAbility to articulately communicate professional/technical knowledgeEffective business advisory skillsDecisively identify and execute solutions to problemsThorough understanding of complex technical issuesAbility to meet deadlines with accuracyAdvanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) / Tax law knowledgeMarcum LLP is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
