As the only not-for-profit, federally qualified health center (FQHC) in Schenectady County, HHC is dedicated to ensuring access to care for everyone, regardless of income, while respecting cultural diversity and focusing on continuous improvement.

Position Summary:The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for Hometown Health Centers, ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to the diverse communities it serves. The CEO will work closely with the leadership team—including the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Chief Dental Officer (CDO), Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), and General Counsel/Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer—to drive the organization’s goals. Overseeing multiple locations, including the main center in Schenectady, a center in Amsterdam, and an expanded dental division, the CEO will manage operations and support initiatives like the School-Based Health Program, which provides healthcare access to students directly in their schools. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead efforts to maintain financial sustainability, advance strategic planning, and support future growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Collaborate with the Board of Directors and the leadership team to develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan, ensuring all activities align with long-term objectives and support the improvement of community healthcare services. The CEO will identify opportunities for growth and innovation, ensuring HHC adapts to the evolving healthcare landscape.

Financial Oversight:

Partner with the CFO to manage financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and revenue cycle management, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining a focus on high-quality patient care.

Operational Management:

Oversee daily operations across all centers and programs, including the School-Based Health Program, while ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to healthcare best practices. The CEO will also implement data-driven performance metrics to improve operational efficiencies and patient outcomes.

Community Engagement:

Serve as the primary representative of HHC, building relationships with healthcare partners, government agencies, and community organizations. Promote the organization’s mission through outreach and partnerships that improve healthcare access and impact. The CEO will also lead efforts to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization and the communities it serves.

Team Development:

Lead and support the executive leadership team by fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. The CEO will focus on leadership development to build a strong pipeline of future leaders within the organization.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure full compliance with healthcare regulations, working closely with the General Counsel/Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer to maintain strong data protection, patient privacy, and ethical standards. The CEO will also stay informed about legislative developments affecting healthcare delivery to ensure HHC remains compliant with all regulations.
