Job Description
Purpose of Position:
This position may involve working with neonates to the geriatric population as per age competency delineation. This position oversees Associate Respiratory Therapists Level I, Respiratory Technician ( Level I, II, or Aides), clerical staff, departmental service aides. Under medical supervision perform the following functions and activities:
Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversees the Department of Respiratory Care in the absence of the DirectorConducts shift reportActivates EverbridgeECMO pump, circuit set-up and primingMaintains ventilator statisticsAssess the performance of Associate Respiratory Therapist L IMinimum Qualifications1. Graduation from an Associate Degree program in Respiratory Therapy approved by the New York State Board of Education or a program determined equivalent in accordance with the Commissioner of the State Board of Education's regulations; and,2. Possession of a current license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of New York; and,3. Possession of current registration as a Respiratory Therapist issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
