Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a
Staff Systems Engineer
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Vehicle Engineering department. This position is located in
Melbourne, Florida . This position is fully onsite with no remote work available.
The Model-Based Engineering (MBE) Tools subject matter expert (SME) leverages prior engineering design/analysis experience to support Model-based Design (MBD), Model-based Manufacturing (MBM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) initiatives related to engineering tools development and Northrop Grumman Digital Transformation strategy at both the sector and enterprise levels. He/she works independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of Engineering Tools and exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of the assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maturation of digital thread between engineering and manufacturing
Work as Sector ECAD Architect
Engineering CAD/PLM tools requirement definition
Support the development and program adoption of AS Sector Digital Transformation tools and initiatives
Validation testing of CAD/PLM tool functionality
Creation of training and best practice documentation
Provide subject matter expert (SME) user support
Develop/update sector processes for CAD/PLM
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 12 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in design, analysis and/or engineering tools development discipline OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in design, analysis and/or engineering tools development
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Experience working in an aerospace design environment. Emphasis placed in the following disciplines: Structural Design/Analysis, Subsystems Design/Analysis, Electrical/Mechanical Routing, or Mechanism Design/Analysis.
Experience working with Teamcenter and NX (or equivalent PDM/PLM and CAD/CAE applications)
Experience working with Capital and Xpedition (or equivalent)
Experience with HarnesSys
Experience with Model-Based Relational Design and Assembly Configuration
Experience working in the context of an Agile/Scrum environment
Communicates effectively and clearly presents technical approaches and recommendations
Salary Range:
$142,500 - $213,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
