Core Web Framework Engineering TeamCore Web Framework Engineering Team is seeking a self-driven Staff Engineer with deep expertise in Framework design and development. This role focuses on envisioning framework features, designing and developing them with an emphasis on developer experience and performance.
Responsibilities
60% of the time spent on hands-on engineering activities.
Envision, design, develop and release innovative framework features enabling developers to build highly performant and scalable web applications.
Drive both high-level and detailed technical designs and conduct design reviews as needed.
Take initiative to identify and implement new, highly scalable foundational components and libraries.
Improve and maintain existing components of the core framework.
Actively participate in team and company-wide architecture and engineering discussions and forums.
Employ technical expertise to help team members overcome technical problems.
Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software for use in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related environments.
Serve as a passionate and expert advocate of our frameworks and platform.
Responsible for health and quality of the code across the portfolio, including leadership over SCM, functional testing, and CI/CD tool integration.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
6+ years of active engineering experience in a complex environment and/or comparable experience such as successful engineering and deployment of enterprise-grade technology assets.
Hands-on experience in development of highly scalable, high performance front end applications using a variety of technologies.
Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Redux, Jest, Enzyme and One-App is required.
Hands-on coding experience in One Amex suite of platforms and products, especially One Data JS Functions is required.
Proven track record of contributing to core frameworks and platforms like One App and One Data and demonstrated expertise in the internals of the frameworks is required.
Proven track record of contributing to open source software is required.
Ability to work with a large group of skilled engineers, providing technical guidance, decision making ability and developing followership.
Enjoy helping engineers solve problems.
Advanced engineering skill with wide-ranging experience; able to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
Thought leadership, ability to take on vague and partially defined problems and be able to provide solutions.
Passion for learning new technologies, industry trends and deep technical curiosity, emphasis on keeping up with the state of frontend of engineering and frameworks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Salary Range: $170,000.00 to $255,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits.
