Talascend is currently seeking an experienced

Automotive Software Test Engineer

for a contract role with our client in Newark, CA.

Must be locally based, willing to work on-site or willing to relocate at your own expense. Must be eligible to work for any employer in the U.S.

Overview:The Software Engineer will join the Electrical Integration team responsible for testing/validating the OTA software updates for in-vehicle connectivity. This role includes designing, developing and building vehicle validation test cases then performing root cause analysis of issues identified in the software. This engineer will be equipped to collaborate effectively with others.

Responsibilities:

Plan and execute system-level test cases related to OTA updates.

Perform and collaborate tests on vehicles across all the models and markets.

Perform analysis and record and track software bugs to closure.

Work cross functionally to identify risks and opportunities for product integrity and user experience.

Analyze test data to verify system behavior troubleshooting issues and raising bug tickets.

Clearly communicate test results, collaborate with stakeholders globally to discuss issues detected and work on next action plan.

Traveling for testing purposes to support end to end OTA validation.

Triaging bugs and serving as primary interface to issues encountered in field.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with strong foundation in computer science, understanding data structures, algorithms, and software design.

2+ years of experience in automotive embedded testing, with knowledge of microcontroller architecture, memory layouts, device drivers, compilers, and debuggers.

Hands-on experience in UDS, CAN, and Ethernet protocols; proficiency with automotive testing tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, CANstress, and Wireshark.

Preferred: Familiarity with Python or scripting languages and Linux platforms.
