We are seeking an experienced
Staff Accountant
to join our finance team. This position will be based at our Creative Center located in Hackensack, N.J. This role will focus on day-to-day accounting tasks, assisting with monthly close processes, and supporting various financial analyses. The ideal candidate will have experience with month end closing processes, be familiar with U.S. GAAP, and support process improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger by preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Provide support to the AR & AP functions on account reconciliation, facilitate collection processes, and be available for general guidance/support on projects.
Prepare and complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring accurate tracking of transactions and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the production team to maintain accurate records of inventory levels, perform periodic inventory counts, and ensure proper costing in the financial records.
Assist in preparing financial statements, supporting schedules, and variance analyses for monthly and quarterly reporting to support the company's financial goals.
Assist with internal and external audit processes by providing supporting documents, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports as needed.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and support the implementation of best practices across the finance department.
Leverage NetSuite and various IT systems used to drive process improvements that will positively impact the organization. Ensure accurate data entry and perform data validation within the system to maintain data integrity.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing. Experience in a fragrance or chemical manufacturing environment is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required and NetSuite is a plus.
Familiarity with inventory management and cost accounting principles is highly desirable.
Demonstrated strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying issues and driving solutions
