Join our team as a Structural Engineer with expertise in Navy applications. Lead the design and development of structural systems for shipbuilding and defense projects. Enhance design processes and technologies through your background in mechanical and structural design. Support research and development, integration, testing, and evaluation activities for the Navy’s shipbuilding and defense programs. Apply engineering design skills to naval vessels and systems by conducting and supporting related R&D, integration, and T&E activities for the Navy's shipbuilding and defense programs. Direct the design and development of mechanical and structural systems for shipbuilding and defense projects, improve design processes and technologies, and prepare and present technical reports and documents to stakeholders. Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Collaborate with a cross-functional technical and acquisition team comprising engineers from various disciplines and lead technical activities that support program office efforts. Mentor junior engineers and foster a positive, inclusive culture within the team.Basic Qualifications:10+ years of experience with engineering of structuresExperience with structural designs in Navy or defense systemsExperience working in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of systems engineers, electrical and electronics engineers, acquisition professionals, and logistics and sustainment professionals to achieve program outcomesKnowledge of naval vessel structural design specifications, standards, and practicesAbility to analyze mechanical designs through review of design artifactsBachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil EngineeringTop Secret clearanceAdditional Qualifications:Knowledge of Navy acquisition processesPossession of strong written and verbal technical communication skillsMaster’s degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) CertificationClearance:Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.Compensation:At Booz Allen, we celebrate your contributions, provide you with opportunities and choices, and support your total well-being. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
