The main purpose of this role is to be a strategic partner in World 50's day-to-day operations. The best candidate enables the CEO to work effectively with partners and fulfill commitments to associates, members, shareholders, and our Board of Directors. Acting as a confidante and partner for the Chief Executive, assisting other leadership team members, and supporting department functions according to circumstances and needs.
The CoS acts at the CEO's bequest, anticipating the organization's needs and those running it. This role keeps this leader in touch by attending key meetings, coordinating with different business areas, and helping implement the strategy and vision across the rest of the company. The chief of staff collaborates with the CEO on messaging and the agenda and ensures that the leadership team's focus and time commitments align with the business strategy and objectives.
Responsibilities
Ensure the CEO’s time and attention is leveraged most effectively – manage meeting cadence, meeting attendees and content to make the best use of time as well as supporting the organization’s master calendar in line with the objectives of the business.
Organize all agendas and materials, take clear notes and manage any follow-on actions.
Support data analytics and prep needed for effective decision-making.
Liaison with the Board on agenda and logistics for the highest impact of meetings and support the Leadership Team on miscellaneous projects and communication.
In partnership with the People & Culture team, keep the CEO abreast of the current company climate (employee well-being, key project statuses, new proposals, and culture).
Planning and strategic initiatives:
Ensure that critical meetings such as board, leadership and other key meetings are run according to goals and standards.
Partner closely with the Director of Strategy to coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives.
Coordinate and run highly prioritized CEO projects and the broader leadership team.
Communications:
Responsible for creating communications on behalf of the CEO and/or research in support of board meetings, large scale updates for associates, and any speaking commitments involving internal or external audiences.
Understands and adapts to cultural and regional nuances.
Partners with key global stakeholders to amplify company values and CEO voice.
Manage internal communications across the business, managing flow of information and partnering with functions to ensure communication opportunities are being created and utilized.
Provide triage support for the many inbound communications to the CEO/company and, as applicable, handle correspondence on behalf of CEO, redirect to appropriate parties, handle directly, etc.
Partner on the logistics and content of all major internal events.
Key competencies and attributes:
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting confidently with senior management, peers and external stakeholders.
Unfailing confidentiality, sound judgment, and ability to earn trust from all stakeholders.
Strong teammate who drives deep and positive relationships across the organization and can build and maintain effective working relationships with people at all levels.
Proven success in leading results within tight timeframes; ability to cope under time pressures and work proactively with limited supervision; and creativity in problem-solving.
In order to be eligible for this role you must be at
