Strata G is seeking to fill the position of Senior or Principal Systems Engineer in the Huntsville area. The position requires understanding and application of systems engineering tools with the ability to perform investigations using deductive reasoning in the analysis of technical systems. Responsibilities will include development of project system engineering plans and system requirements management (analysis, derivation, allocation, tracing, and verification) to support the successful completion of design, integration, and test for a wide range of projects associated with military rotor, fixed wing, and unmanned aircraft; and ground vehicle-based systems. Candidate must be able to function in a dynamic and versatile team and will work without any appreciable direction or supervision while exercising their project support duties. Position will require the ability to interact effectively with team members, customers, support personnel and senior management on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.Qualifications Required:Knowledge of systems design and integration and relationship to other engineering disciplines.Capability to research, investigate, and perform systems analysis.Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).Must currently have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.Ability to work independently, flexible, demonstrates initiative.Good communicator across multiple mediums.Qualifications Desired:Proficiency with system engineering methodologies.Knowledge or experience with requirements management techniques and tools (e.g. DOORS).Ability to perform system analysis per DODI 5000.02 or equivalent processes and practices.Experience with aircraft electrical and avionics systems.Strong background in engineering discipline, including electrical, software, or computer science.Knowledge of model-based system engineering processes.Knowledge of military and aerospace standards such as MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, ARINC-429, and SAE DO-178.Familiarity with reliability predications and analysis for aerospace systems using standards such as MIL-STD-217.Former military rotorcraft pilot, crew chief, or maintenance technician or engineer.Minimum Education/Experience:Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, i.e., Mathematics, Physics, traditional Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.Desired Education/Experience:ABET accredited MS Degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field.Masters Degree in Business or Management.All Strata-G employees must successfully complete a background & drug screening during their pre-employment processes. For applicable positions, obtaining and maintaining a Department of Defense security clearance may be required.
