Headquartered in New York City, WAW operates with a mission to provide essential services and advocate for gender equality, justice, and peace in Afghanistan. We are seeking a committed and skilled Executive Assistant to join our team and support our mission-driven work. Position Overview:

The Executive Assistant will provide crucial administrative support to our executive leadership team, and will report directly to the Executive Director, ensuring efficient operations and effective communication. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a passion for advancing womens rights globally. Occasional travel may be required for community events in New York and Virginia. As WAW relocates its headquarters to Manhattan in 2025, in-person attendance at the new location will be necessary. Key Responsibilities: Manage executive calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements. Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations with accuracy and professionalism. Serve as a liaison between executives and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring timely communication and follow-up. Assist in the planning and execution of special projects and events, including logistics and coordination. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Support financial management by preparing budgets and processing expense reports. Streamline administrative processes to improve efficiency and productivity within the organization. Demonstrate flexibility and reliability in managing priorities and adapting to changing circumstances. Exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information effectively and professionally. Take initiative in anticipating needs, problem-solving, and implementing solutions proactively. Occasional travel may be required for community events in New York and Virginia. As WAW relocates its headquarters to Manhattan in Spring/Summer 2025, in-person attendance at the new location will be necessary. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience as an executive assistant or in a similar role. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Suite. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, multicultural environment. Commitment to WAWs mission and values, including gender equality and social justice.
