Lucketts Community Center is actively seeking a vibrant Assistant Manager to take our programs and services to the next level. As the Assistant Manager, you'll play a crucial role in creating a welcoming, well-maintained environment for all visitors. You will oversee daily operations, ensuring our facility runs smoothly while managing a diverse array of community programs, events, and activities. Your leadership will help maintain an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and engaged.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a passion for recreation and community engagement. It is essential to have robust analytical skills to assess reports and guide future program development. Your capacity to inspire and motivate a team, combined with your dedication to maintaining departmental policies, will be crucial to our success.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
Lucketts Community Center, Leesburg, VAKey Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence: Manage facility operations, oversee maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.Team Leadership: Hire, train, and supervise staff, promoting professional development and a positive work culture.Program Development: Supervise the design and implementation of innovative programs for all ages, from sports, fitness, and arts to enrichment classes. Conduct community surveys to identify interests and enhance participation.Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service to staff, vendors, and visitors, and represent the center at community meetings and conferences.Financial Stewardship: Assist in budgeting, monitor expenses and revenue, and ensure financial targets are met while coordinating supply purchases and repairs.Undertakes additional responsibilities as required, which may include assuming different roles during staff shortages and emergency situations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Recreation or Leisure Services, Social Work, Gerontology or related field depending on assigned area; two (2) years related work experience in program and facility management working with the public, working with the frail elderly or special populations, groups, and organizations including one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Parks Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
Must undergo background checks to include fingerprinting, criminal, credit, and Child Protective Services (CPS) checks.An annual submission of a sworn disclosure statement or affirmation is required, which must include any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges.TB tests must be passed within 30 days of hiring and annually thereafter.First Aid, CPR, AED, MAT training, and ServSafe certifications within 90 days of hire.The selected candidate must complete County e-learning, supervisory training, and other training as required.
