Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL) builds community by promoting the joy of reading and learning. Serving as the civic center of the community, LCPL provides free and equal access to a full variety of library resources and innovative technologies to enhance the quality of life and meet the informational, educational, and cultural interests of the entire community.Job Summary

LCPL seeks an experienced marketer to manage its social media accounts, which include Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube. This person will also assist library staff with producing marketing materials. Currently, LCPL primarily uses the Canva Enterprise system. Successful candidates will be passionate storytellers eager to engage with customers, comfortable on camera, able to collaborate with staff and community partners, manage short- and long-term marketing campaigns, have excellent written and communication skills, have knowledge of library services and understand how they positively impact the community. This position requires regular visits to LCPL branches and attending community events. Continuous learning is an expectation.Specific job examples include:Social Media Management:

Develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement and promote library services, events, and resources.Create engaging content about LCPL's collection, programs, and services.Serve as staff's primary point of contact regarding any social media questions or needs.Provide guidance and support to staff in content creation and utilizing social media effectively.Monitor social media channels for feedback, questions, and trends, and respond promptly and professionally.

Canva Enterprise Management:

Assist staff with special requests on projects outside the scope of existing templates.Serve as staff's primary point of contact regarding any Canva questions or needs.Contribute fresh LCPL-branded designs/templates to our collection as desired/needed.

Software and social media platforms are subject to change.

The successful candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail, the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Work schedule is typically Monday through Friday daytime, but occasional night, weekend, and holiday work is required.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field and two (2) years of related work experience.

Demonstrated previous experience in social media management, content creation, and or marketing, proficiency in graphic design software and/or familiarity with design principals is highly preferred. Bilingual - Spanish/English preferred.Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
