Job Responsibilities

This employee will be responsible for managing Information Technology's Help Desk function and to support the Technology Development Program (TDP).

Job Duties Include:

Managing customer-initiated service inquiries via an electronic ticketing system and monitors resolution success in accordance established standards.Managing administrative functions of the Help Desk program, including SOP's, goals, procurement oversight, data reporting/analysis and communications.Managing end user device programs (including computers, tablets and wireless communication devices) and assists in coordinating relevant software installations and updates.Supervising and evaluating the performance of assigned employees, providing opportunities for interactive coaching and professional development.Assisting with the overall management and improvement of IT's ongoing TDP by providing support across all functional areas, as well as input/feedback regarding goals, strategies and priorities.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, information technology, mathematics, statistics, management information science or a related field and experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology. Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.Preferred Qualifications

Three (3) years experience in personal computer implementation and support, and end-user support in a help desk or call center environment. Prefer two (2) years supervisory experience including performance evaluations.

A detailed knowledge of Windows operating systems. Knowledge of desktop PC's and laptop technologies including hardware and software. Knowledge of printer technologies and maintenance and a good understanding of systems management and inventory control. Basic knowledge of networking protocols, and familiarity with setting up and operating Help Desk Ticket software. Knowledge on the installation, setup and troubleshooting of mobile devices to include iPad Tablets. Familiarity with VoIP telephones. Organized and detailed in supervision of inventory control and help desk technician work responsibilities. Effective and clear written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity using SC State Contracts to procure hardware and software.

Ability to lift heavy objects, work outside standard working hours and participate in statewide travel with possible overnight trips.
