Senior Director of Operations
Position Summary:
Wellspring Community, a local non-profit based in Castle Rock, CO, is seeking an experienced executive to join our team as the Senior Director of Operations. This individual should bring extensive knowledge in operations management, finance, and human resources, along with a strong commitment to empowering the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD/DD) community. Wellspring celebrates adults with special needs and creates opportunities for them to lead fulfilling lives through work, enrichment, and educational programs in a supportive, God-centered environment.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Senior Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing multiple critical operational functions including the business, finance, administrative staff, human resources, resource coordination, and transportation department. This position is critical to advancing operational excellence, ensuring fiscal accountability, and upholding compliance across all facets of the organization. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with a high level of integrity, a deep understanding of financial management, and a passion for making a positive impact in the community. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic and Operational Leadership
Act as the primary finance and operations partner to the Executive Director, supporting business, accounting, administrative, and HR functions.Develop, implement, and evaluate operational goals, policies, and procedures that align with Wellspring's mission.Contribute to both short- and long-term strategic planning to drive the organization's growth and sustainability.Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations, including employment, Medicaid, and healthcare laws.Financial Management
Oversee the organization's financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and adherence to standard accounting principles.Manage cash flow, perform variance analysis, and proactively address any financial risks or opportunities.Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors, ensuring they receive clear updates on the organization's fiscal health.Supervise the organization's accounting functions, tax filings, audit processes, and management of insurance policies.Operations & Team Development Management
Provide comprehensive oversight of key operational functions, including Human Resources, Facilities, Resource Coordination, and Transportation. Support and collaborate with department leads to ensure smooth operations and enhance team effectiveness.
Responsibilities include:
Support the HR manager in employee relations, policy updates, and compliance. Foster a positive workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and professional development. Provide coaching and guidance to team members to promote growth and collaboration.Oversee facilities operations, including purchasing, leasing, and renovation projects to ensure optimal work environments.Lead the resource coordination team to manage participant and family needs, maintain relationships with case management agencies, and ensure timely Medicaid billing and payments.Manage transportation operations, ensure efficient vehicle maintenance, scheduling, and strategic planning for vehicle replacement.Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required, with 6+ years of experience in business, accounting, or finance, including 3+ years in a management role. Experience as a Controller, CFO, or Director of Operations is preferred.Strong skills in budgeting, financial analysis, and fiscal planning, with proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and QuickBooks.Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information effectively.Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with proven leadership in advancing these values.Position is classified as Full Time/Exempt
