We provide child well-being services to help children live in a safe and nurturing environment. We provide services to parents needing education and guidance to improve their parenting skills so their children can remain with them. We also provide services to children who are placed with foster families until they can return home or become part of an adoptive family.

Position Summary:
Completes SAFE home studies to determine families' suitability to meet the needs of Milwaukee County children in out-of-home care. Conducts home studies for relative caregivers and supports relative caregivers through the kinship and licensing process. Conducts rigorous background checks, home inspections and psycho-social assessments. Orients prospective foster, relative, and adoptive families to the application, kinship, home study and placement process and collaborates with Out of Home Care staff performing placement and service roles to ensure the provision of comprehensive and well-coordinated services program-wide. Works cooperatively with the Intake and Placement Liaison to match children needing placement into licensed foster homes and coordinating the placement process.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field required. Master's Degree in Social Work or related field preferred.Social Work certification preferred.Child Welfare, Foster Care Licensing, and/or Adoption experience preferred.Certification in SAFE assessment tool within 6 months of hire.Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.Strong internal and external verbal and written communication skills.Basic computer skills required. eWiSACWIS experience preferred.Bilingual preferred.Requires a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, minimum liability insurance coverage and the ability to be insured by the CHHS auto insurance carrier.
