Summary
The Accountant will primarily be responsible for maintaining, recording, and managing accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) transactions and uploading third-party transactions.
The ideal candidate is a team player with solid accounting skills, a standard of excellence, a can-do attitude, and attention to detail. S/He/they must be a self-starter who pays keen attention to detail and can adapt to changing priorities while working efficiently to meet deadlines. The accountant will report to the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibility 1: Accounts Receivable, Cash Application and Reconciliations
40% of TimeProcess rent payments for incoming wires and manual check deposits for all commercial/foundation tenants.Take charge of all cash applications, including coding, research, and posting of receipts.Perform month-end bank reconciliations for all bank accounts and other reconciliations for month-end support.Work closely with property management to ensure that receivables are reconciled with the data at any time.Assist with accounting projects such as researching past rent payments and rent received.Job Responsibility 2: Accounts Payable

Invoice Management:
Maintain Utility coding spreadsheet and process Utility invoices for paymentInvoice upload and data entry into the accounting systemTransferring invoices to the correct personnel in the accounting system
Assist as a backup for Senior A/P accountant, including preparing and analyzing job costs and processing job cost payments.Maintain and update records for Vendors in Vendor Café.Resolve transactional inquiries and escalate broader issues.Job Responsibility 3: General Accounting
10% of Time
Perform general administrative duties, including organizing and maintaining accurate files and records.Upload third-party transactions into Yardi.Recommend, assist, test, or implement process streamlining system improvements or workflow changes.Reconciliation between the GL and sub-ledger as needed.Participate as a project team member and contribute to changing management strategy through communication and collaboration.Serve as a liaison to other departments to resolve accounting issues.Ensure work complies with internal policies and external regulations that require interpretation.Assist in the participation of basic management information reports.Other Responsibilities as Assigned:

Qualifications
Education / Training
A college degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred, or 5 years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience/Technical Skills
3-5 years of accounting experience and previous experience in a commercial real estate environment is a plus.
Extensive accounts receivable and payable experience.Excellent working knowledge of Excel and all MS Office applications required.Experience with large ERP systems is a plus.Strong analytical, comprehension, and problem-solving skills.Ability to handle multiple projects.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to professionally interact with onsite staff, peers, senior management, and third parties.Effective organizational skills and an independent self-starter with good follow-up.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, maintaining accuracy in work products and multi-tasking in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Experience with Yardi is a plus.Organization

Compensation Transparency
At TSO, base pay is part of a broader compensation package and is set within a range, allowing for growth as you advance in your role. The pay range for this role is between $76,000 and $86,000, in addition to a discretionary bonus eligibility.
Salary offers are determined based on various factors, including experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, internal equity, and specific business and organizational needs. TSO is fully committed to complying with California's pay transparency laws to ensure fair and equitable compensation practices.
