Group Summary

Position Summary: Ensure all shipping and receiving practices are adhered to, following Mafact and MMSA guiding principles. Foster an environment of safety and thorough verification processes.
Duties:
Conducts all shipping and receiving activities, confirming the paperwork matches the shipment and submits any supplier discrepancies accordingly.
Scans all outbound shipments, sends the ASN and verifies with the 997-verification report.
Responsible for timely shipping and receiving of incoming/outgoing materials using FIFO principles.
Update the shipping / receiving communication screen for all regular and expedited shipments.
Ensure proper load staging is completed in advance of outbound shipments.
Conducts a 17-point inspection, ensuring C-TPAT requirements are adhered to.
Ensures all safety measures are in place, including ICC dock locks, wheel chocks and trailer stands when applicable.
Responsible for understanding weight capacities and proper loading practices.
Control and maintain the returnable container management system.
Ensure defect free packaging for all incoming and outgoing material and identifies defective containers and places in the appropriate location.
Place all materials in their proper locations to ensure the warehouse is kept organized in a 5S environment.
Promote a clean, safe and positive work environment.
Proper communication of all required information with other departments.
Responsible for problem solving while working under minimal supervision.
Ensure the transportation driver logbook is up to date for all outgoing and incoming shipments.
Participate in all applicable inventory counts and annual inventory processes.
Participate in incident / accident investigations when applicable.
Escalate any equipment malfunctions or racking compliance issues.
Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
Maintain forklift safety procedures and forklift & reach truck licenses.
Deliver stock to production lines in accordance with First In-First Off (FIFO) principles.
Assist in line change overs and delivery of required materials.
Check and complete daily maintenance reports along with the Forklift Pre-Inspection Form
Ensure purchase parts on shelves are kept in order according to shelf / racking layout
Assist with monthly inventory or as per inventory schedule
Remove scrap and empty bins as required.
Follow Job instructions in all applicable areas
Any other duties assigned by Supervisor or delegate.
Skills and Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent
Operating knowledge of all types of lift trucks
Must have working knowledge of shipping/receiving
Demonstrated strong organizational skills
Good oral and written communication
Good reading comprehension and mathematical skills
Must be available and flexible for daily and weekend overtime
Must be available and flexible for monthly and/or yearend inventories
Demonstrated maturity in judgement when solving problems
Excellent Attendance needed.
