SUMMARY
The Director of Student Onboarding and Retention is responsible for providing leadership, vision and strategic direction of the college onboarding and retention processes including advising, conduct, and retention programs. This position will build and monitor the processes used by students to enter the college, determine their course work, and obtain additional support to stay in college when necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & OTHER DUTIES
Essential Functions
Responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction for student advising and retention.Responsible for updating and maintaining policies, and procedures related to programs supervised.Responsible for preparing budgets and managing financial operations of the department that align with the College's budget, goals and objectives, guidelines and policies.Supervise staff while provide training and mentoring for systems, processes, and student engagement. Evaluate staff on a regular basis providing feedback and developing plans for improvement when necessary.Responsible to lead enforcement of the student code of conduct.Coordinate Title IX within student services and serve as a Title IX decision maker.Coordinate the student grievance process ensuring adherence to the process and meeting documented timelines.Develop and implement the college advising and retention model.Work closely with the instruction department to monitor changes in curriculum and impact on student advising.Monitor college enrollment, retention and completion data with a focus on equity.Coordinate student recruitment, retention and enrollment management with instructional deans.Responsible for promoting and fostering an environment of cooperation and respect to support the success and achievement of students.Plan and coordinate student onboarding process and strategies.Participate closely with the Vice President of Student Services and serve as a member of the student service leadership team. Assist the Vice-President of Student Service in planning and resolution of issues related to the overall operation of the student affairs, and participate in establishing and achieving the College's mission and goals.Represent the College to the community as needed at local, region or state meeting as requested by the Vice President of Student Service.Represent student services on college-wide committees as designated by Vice President of Student Services.Responsible for preparing budgets and management of financial operations of the department within the budget, goals and objectives of college guidelines and policies.Provide leadership, development and supervision to staff to maximize the overall performance and ensure alignment of the department's and College's strategic plan, core values, vision and mission.Non-Essential/Other Functions

Bates provides $35,000 basic life insurance for death from any cause and $5,000 basic accidental death and dismemberment at no cost to the employee. Employees can enroll in additional low cost life insurance for themselves and dependents.
Bates provides a basic LTD insurance plan at no cost to employees. The basic plan pays a maximum of$240 per month after 90 days of total disability. The optional LTD plan pays 60% of the first $10,000 of monthly salary, reduced by any deductible income such as social security or retirement benefits.Employee cost is dependent upon benefit waiting period chosen.
