What would you do?
You will be a part of building an entertaining and exciting atmosphere where you will help elevate our mascot program to the next level for both our Timberwolves and Lynx teams. You are a critical part to the execution of our departments needs before, during, and after all home games and events. We are looking for a self-motivated, ambitious, and passionate individual to join our dynamic team.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these essential functions: Lead mascot role of Prowl for Minnesota Lynx games and events. Collaborate with Live Programming and Entertainment team to incorporate Prowl elements into game entertainment at each home game. Manage appearance schedule for Prowl, including communication with internal and external stakeholders. Manage Prowl's social media accounts and content. Expand in-game mascot program for the Timberwolves and Lynx, including on-court and video skits/routines. Assistant for Crunch during Timberwolves games and events. Ability to perform as any of the organization's multiple characters. Generate mascot program revenue through paid appearances. Assist with hiring, scheduling and overall supervision of game-night Mascot Assistants. Maintain the Prowl costume and props associated with the program. Other duties as assigned. What are your proficiencies or equivalent experiences?
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Maintaining physical fitness is necessary to meet the physical demands of performing. Must be comfortable performing in front of large crowds. Previous mascot experience is preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Strong written and interpersonal skills required. Digital literacy required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is preferred. Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Ability to work well on a team and independently. Must have a valid driver's license. Excellent attention to detail.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5:30PM. In addition to working office hours staff may be required to work Timberwolves and Lynx home games, member events and meetings, and networking events. Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate to high levels of noise.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
Travel
Position may require travel to external events.
