General Information:

University Events is seeking three professional student assistants to work with our office in the academic year 2024-2025, with the possibility to continue for future academic years. This position offers a full scope of event planning and provides a professional office environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Work with the University Events team in the planning and implementation of a variety of events including Commencement, Presidential and campus wide events. Duties include menu planning, creating decor, creating advertisements and publications, managing RSVPs, greeting guests, setup and take down of events, and other related tasks. Help support the planning and staffing of senior class events on campus.2. Office duties, such as taking inventory of supplies, answering emails and questions as needed, photocopying, filing, mailings, etc.3. Assist during home football games in the President's Suite. Ability to work at least one home game each season.4. Assist with planning and executing the December and May Commencement ceremonies. Create newsletters, maps and diagrams, and communications to inform graduates and guests. Create and maintain documentation and inventory for the commencement team. Availability to work during both events is required.

Preferred Qualifications* Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook* Proficient in using Canva* Experience with Adobe programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Spark* Knowledge of student trends and up to date with social media platforms

Conditions of Employment:

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).

Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
