Location: This position is hybrid, based in Laurel, MD 20707. Role: Delmock Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Systems Administrator/Engineer that is proficient with Linux, WebSphere, and WebLogic to Administer IBM WebSphere Portal, IBM WebSphere Application Server, Oracle WebLogic Server, and Apache Tomcat. Responsibilities: Maintains, monitors, and supports the Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructure and other Linux based vendor provided servers platforms. Perform backups, recovery, performance analysis, resolution and deployment of Linux and Linux based systems he/she is responsible. Manages hardware/software installations, security add-ons on platforms and upgrades to integrate Red Hat Linux technologies with other platforms. Create and manage server templates for Linux based platforms, perform and implement a platform patching system, manage security and monitoring add-ons to the server environment. Perform research on cutting edge technologies with respect to the platforms he/she is responsible, Implement POC and advise management for appropriate approval. Provide assistance to database administrators, Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalated support and perform problem diagnosis and problem resolution. Must have experience with supporting IT systems within a multi-platform environment. Maintain records of systems, procedures documentation, performance and capacity records; arrange vendor services or other actions for reconfiguration and anticipate requirements for system expansion. Must have experience with implementing, supporting, and monitoring systems in a data center environment. Manages all aspects of the multi‐platform application environments including day to day support, CI/CD, monitoring systems, database & systems administration, and general troubleshooting. Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments for server management and command line operations. Strong hands‐on experience in writing scripts to handle complex automation using shell scripting languages. Implements application server clustering. Applies application server patches, Fix Packs and Service Packs. Conducts performance tuning. Configures and updates SSL certificates, data sources, and JDBC connection pool. Support application developers. Collaborate with IT infrastructure team, platform team, DBAs, network team, security team, Help Desk, change management team, etc. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology., At least three (3) years minimum of relevant experience required. 2 years of experience supporting Red Hat Linux, including demonstrated expertise in operating system installation, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, upgrades, migrations, and maintenance. Preferred/Nice to Have Skills: 7+ years of hands‐on large scale system administration including installation, configuration, deployment, cluster management, and production support. Security management – Understanding of SSL/TLS configurations, user authentication mechanisms (LDAP, SSO) and security patches. Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows environments. Strong proficiency in scripting and automation. Well versed in networking concepts. Monitoring and performance tuning. Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills. Excellent communication skills. Quick to learn and adapt. 7+ years’ experience in system administration using the following: Oracle WebLogic Server, IBM WebSphere Portal, IBM WebSphere Application Server, and Apache Tomcat. Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management (WAM). Nexus, SVN, and Jenkins. Linux (RHEL7/RHEL8) and Windows platforms. System monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk). Strong hands‐on experience in writing shell scripts (bash, python, jython, jacl) to handle complex automation. Solid knowledge about web servers (Apache, Nginx), network concepts (DNS, IP addressing, firewalls and port management) and load balancers. Installation and management of COTS products on Windows platform. Any cloud management experience Clearance: The ability to pass a background check is required.
