LeanData is searching for a Corporate Controller who is excited to build and lead a high-performing GL Accounting team while maintaining a focus on process improvement and scalability. In this role, you will oversee accounting operations, including revenue recognition, payroll, tax, treasury, and stock administration. LeanData is fortunate to be in a growth stage, so in addition to the day to day operations, you will work within and across departments to implement systems, improve processes and expand existing policies. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working within a fast-paced environment while still maintaining a close attention to detail.
This position is based in our Santa Clara, CA office, operating on a hybrid basis.
Financial Operations and Team ManagementManage the team responsible for day-to-day operations to produce timely and accurate financial information for internal and external reporting purposes.Lead the general ledger activities, including the review of journal entries and account reconciliations.Oversee the month-end financial statement analysis and flux commentaries.Treasury, disbursements, Bill.com, credit/debit card management, and intercompany cash movement.Process Improvements, Systems, and Controls
Develop and execute a roadmap for implementing/improving processes and controls to scale the accounting function and safeguard assets.Develop strategy for future system implementations and enhancements/upgrades.Controls build-out toward audit readiness.Enablement of Budget vs Actual (BvA) reporting and Forecast (FCST) roll forward.Compliance, Audit, and Technical Accounting
Own audit processes and proactively communicate with auditors on accounting for complex transactions.Ensure domestic and international compliance for the global setup.Revenue recognition policy and 606 implementation.Technical accounting (stock compensation, revenue recognition, warrants, capitalization of software, tax, and deferred tax).Sales tax, Federal and State income tax filings, international tax, and other compliance matters.Financial Reporting and Due Diligence
Lead or assist in due diligence reviews.Oversee tax-related aspects, including domestic and international compliance with sales tax, income tax filings, and other tax obligations.Requirements:
12+ years of related experience, including at least 3 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred) and 3 years managing a team.Proven track record in building and managing high-performing accounting teams.Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting operations.Experience working with multinational entities, including transfer pricing and international tax.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and produce meaningful reports.Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred.Desire to roll up your sleeves, prioritize work, and drive results.Bonus points if you have:

The salary range for this role is between $220,000 and $270,000 depending on skills and experience.
