Job description
The Sanitation Associate leads all Sanitation routines on a certain shift in the facility, provides technical support, and engages teams across all shifts to drive consistent execution, effectiveness, and efficiency
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned .
Responsible for maintaining the Food Safety and Quality Programs directly related to sanitation and enforcing those programs.
Works with food handlers and production personnel in sanitary procedures.
Directs and performs cleaning of equipment and work areas.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces food safety regulations.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Performs valve and pump PM's and rebuilds as needed.
Performs PM's and necessary maintenance to maintain CIP skids.
Responsible for supervising, supporting, and executing CIP validation, verification, effectiveness, and corrective actions of CIP events for all CIP circuits and COP.
Handles validation of sanitizing processes for thermal processes and fillers.
Coordinates execution of Master Sanitation Schedules for all zones of facility.
Ensures coordination of sanitation record review routines.
Executes Sanitation PM Program of valves, gaskets, etc.
Measures attainment of PM metrics for routines impacting Food Safety.
Ensures execution of Pathogen Environmental Monitoring Program, investigations, improvement, and corrective actions.
Provides technical support to investigations associated to product quality and food safety deviations. Performs root cause analysis and corrective actions for in-process and finished products.
Conducts root cause analysis associated with customer and consumer complaints.
Performs inventory control for cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, cleaning tools, and equipment for sanitation PM program.
Responsible for environmental cleaning and grounds keeping.
Provides assistance with plant audits.
Acts as a liaison between Country Pure Foods and cleaning chemical supplier along with Janitorial Service and landscaping.
Responsible for maintaining clean and organized chemical room.
Responsible for reviewing, developing and updating sanitation SOP's to include documenting mid-week and End of Week CIP's.
Responsible for ensuring all line, tanks and equipment are CIP'ed correctly and at the right frequency.
Assists with Plant Start up on Sunday to include Tanker Receiving, Blending, and Filler Prep.Maintains Water Skid.
Develops CIP and other Cleaning Procedures for new equipment as added.
Becomes Subject Matter Expert on Processors and HTST.

Education and/or Experience
Must have a minimum of three-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with the execution of Food Safety Plans and compliance to 21 CFR Part 117 and or 21 CFR Part 120. PCQI certification and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as production schedules, inventory reports, sales forecasts, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, trends. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
