Our client, a leader in energy infrastructure, is seeking a Natural Gas Measurement Engineer/Specialist to join their team on a contract basis. This position requires technical expertise in natural gas measurement, with a focus on supporting operational assets and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a robust knowledge of measurement practices and experience with measurement equipment setup, aligning successfully within the client's quality-oriented environment. Job Title: Natural Gas Measurement Engineer/Specialist Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid schedule: in office Monday-Wednesday, remote Thursday-Friday) Experience Level: $55-$65 What's the Job? Provide technical support for natural gas measurement across the client's processing and transportation assets Advise Field Operations on measurement best practices for equipment setup, troubleshooting, and regulatory compliance Oversee setup of RTU and communication equipment to enable data transfer between field and office (SCADA/Measurement systems) Maintain knowledge of industry guidelines (AGA, API, GPA, BLM) and advise on regulatory impact and compliance Serve as the main point of contact for multiple departments to enhance natural gas measurement standards company-wide Develop and refine operational standards and procedures to promote accuracy in measurement practices What's Needed? Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in natural gas measurement may be accepted 3-7 years of experience in the natural gas industry with a focus on measurement practices Proficiency in measurement-specific calculations and natural gas product balancing Experience drafting company standards for measurement practices Working knowledge of AGA, GPA, and API standards for natural gas measurement, as well as hands-on experience with measurement systems for natural gas Familiarity with SCADA systems and the ability to interpret technical blueprints and P&IDs What's in it for me?
