Summary:Responsible for managing the day-to-day maintenance of the grounds. Displays independent initiative and judgment in determining operation of equipment, making repairs and meeting emergency situations. Supervises and coordinates groundskeepers. Responsible for designing, planting and maintenance of landscaped areasResponsibilities:Manages and leads the overall operation of the Grounds Department for all Hospital Facility'sResponsible for selecting, hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and leading all employees on the Grounds CrewDevelops and maintains a written schedule for grass cutting, edging, walk sweeping, external elevator cleaning, outside trash Management, and blowing all walksSupervises the cleaning of all parking garages, power washing of all walks and garages, cleaning of all surface parking lots, and Maintaining all entrances and external door ways Establishes a planting schedule for all seasonal flowers, assist with the selection of all flowers and oversees the bed preparationNegotiates and manages the outside contract for additional grounds servicesAlso, measures the effectiveness of this serviceManages the irrigation schedule and the maintenance on all sprinkler systemsOversees the pruning of all bushes and treesAlso, manages any of this type work performed by an outside contractorInsures that all flags are in excellent conditionsResponsible for managing the flags for any special eventsRequirements:5 years' experience in Groundskeeping, Landscaping, and/or Horticulture3 years' experience in a supervisory role required. Preferred Associate's degree in Landscape Management, Landscape Design, Groundskeeping or other similar industry.
